Finally a tad bit of wind arrived. Went on the beach at 11am to check it out but it was barely 5 knots. Went back to the apartment and had a little kip in front of the TV. Got awoken by my dad to tell me there were some Kitesurfers on the beach but I wasn't having any of it. Finally beleived him and there were a couple out just maintaining enough ground in the shallows.

Off to the beach with the 14 Sonic and the onshore wind was around 12knots.

I got onto the water and I was perfectly powered up so played around in the surf for an hour or so dodging the surfers. Got some nice big jumps from the perfectly formed ramps and had some nice big wipeouts as well. A couple more kiters had turned up by this point and there were about 5 out but still there was pleanty of room as the tide was half way out.

One of my jumps was memorable as I launched myself into the air and misjudged my landing point. Came down a bit later than expected nearly taking out my dad. Luckily, I kicked the board away just in time. A close call that provided a bit of amusement to my sister.

Then all of a sudden the wind died and every1 came in. I left my kite pumped up just in case the wind filled back in and it did an hour later so I was the only person out again. By this point, it was almost high tide so I was fast running out of beach and the runs were restricted with the rocks at either end of the beach. Quite a few more surfers turned up and room was getting a bit tight. The wind then dropped of again so I decided to give my mini mal a whurl and I got going fine with it. Gybing was pretty tricky though.

The wind finally gave up the ghost and there wasn't even enough to keep my kite in the air so that put an end to the sesh. A few other kitesurfers turned up for an afterwork sesh but the wind wasn't playing ball so they had to do the waiting game.
In all not a bad day at the beach even if the wind was super light and a good end to the long weekend. Woulda been lovely if I was able to get the 9m Trix out but you can't have everything.
